Featured in LeDevoir: How ChatGPT helps teachers.

We were so excited to be interviewed for an article in Le Devoir!

Stephan Baillargeon, reporter for Le Devoir explained to us that he often has difficulty finding teachers who discuss AI in a positive light. If you are familiar with us at ESL-Interactive, you know that we often use AI to leverage our teaching. There are so many tools that help us create material, differentiate and engage learners during class. We discussed with Mr. Baillargeon how teachers are integrating ChatGPT into their teaching practices to enhance their pedagogy. We highlighted how this tool as well as many others, are being used to create personalized exercises, simplify complex texts, and incorporate current case studies into lessons, making teaching more dynamic and tailored to students' individual needs.

However, we also had our ethical and pedagogical concerns associated with AI, such as the risk of dependence on these tools and the importance of providing proper training for teachers. In the interview, we emphasized the need for a balanced approach that combines technological innovation with critical reflection to ensure that the benefits of AI in education are maximized while maintaining the integrity and quality of teaching. This can also be taught to students, who must learn to navigate a future where AI integration will be ubiquitous.
